British Airways is commemorating its hundredth-year anniversary with a brand campaign starring some of the biggest names in Britain.
With British Airways celebrating its centenary, the marque has created a campaign to mark its hundredth year in the airline industry. The heart-warming push features a love letter to Britain and is supported by some of the destination’s biggest names like Gary Oldman, Olivia Colman, and Riz Ahmed.
Notable sporting stars include Anthony Joshua, Ellie Simmonds, Nicola Adams, Chris Robshaw, Harriet Millar-Mills, and Anthony Watson. The music icons on board are Paloma Faith and The Kingdom Choir (with a cameo from David Bowie), and various other celebrities from several different fields.
The television commercial is backed by broadcast placements across ITV1 and Channel 4. Titled Made by Britain, it delivers appearances from customers, the cabin crew, pilots, and engineers from across the carrier as they perform the final touches for an incredible British Airways flight on the BA100.
Providing a snapshot of modern-day Britain, the notable personalities take their seats alongside people from all walks of life. As they make their journey on board, each recounts the values that they feel make Britain such a special place. The ad signs off with: We love you Britain. You make us who we are.
“Celebrating our centenary is a real milestone in aviation and British industrial history. This campaign is about saying thank you to the amazing people who fly, work, and partner with us. We plan to make this year very special for them,” said Carolina Martinoli, Director of Brand and Customer Experience at British Airways.
British Airways is a five-time national winner of the World Branding Awards under the Airline category, having claimed the title from 2014 right through to 2018.
